It started …

in between jobs when my girls were young and we moved from Chicago to Oakland. I made motor skill books out of discarded clothing - teaching kiddos how to button, lace & discover. They were a hit and it grew into many opportunities to work with my community, reduce waste, be with my kids, teach and design. But, alas, the fashion industry lured me back in and I put that project on hold.

Flash forward a few years, a few jobs, many hours at home during COVID and MoreWithLess evolved. I love to give life to old things and I hate seeing valuable things in the trash. We go through a tremendous amout of clothing every year and if we can revive some, it makes a difference. Plus, think of all the stories this cloth has had (don’t worry, I wash it all first.)

TODAY many more people are aware of the destruction our throw-away culture is having. There are a lot of people and companies making AMAZING changes. Sadly though, I will never run out of materials - or challenges with what to do with them. The silver lining?
